Background
The Tumbler Ridge Economic Resiliency Task Force (ERTF) was launched to develop and implement an Action Plan to mitigate the potential economic impact to businesses and residents from the COVID-19 Pandemic. The ERTF is a collaborative initiative representing the Tumbler Ridge area consisting of Local Government, Business Leaders and Provincial and Regional Stakeholders.
Objective
To gather and identify the necessary information to gain a clear perspective of the financial impact of the COVID 19 pandemic as it relates to Tumbler Ridge in order to implement an informed response.

Complete:
Fridge Magnet: Created and produced a fridge magnet with important emergency and community phone numbers that was distributed to each post office mailbox in Tumbler Ridge.
Ongoing:
Pulse Check on Local Business: In order to support small business in our community, we initiated a Business Walk on September 29th. Small groups that included Mayor & members of Council, the DTR Economic Development department, TR Chamber of Commerce and Community Futures Peace Liard visited businesses to ask a few basic questions about doing business in Tumbler Ridge. We also continued the conversations the week of Oct 1-9, to have further in-depth talks with Tumbler Ridge businesses. This remains ongoing as we try to sit down with as many local businesses as possible.
Financial Workshops: Organized a series of financial workshops for the residents of Tumbler Ridge on topics such as retirement planning, wills, managing debt etc. to take place via virtual platforms in Fall 2020. Follow Invest Tumbler Ridge on Facebook for updates on events.
